frequently painful in response to an injury or illness. Inflammation is caused by the immune system being activated in
response to a variety of stressors. With cellular and humoral components, the immune system is a highly sophisticated and
evolutionarily honed defence mechanism. There are several synthetic medications available to efficiently treat
inflammation and associated symptoms, but they are not necessarily without adverse effects. Despite a lack of
understanding regarding herbals' pharmacological efficacies and safety, sales of both proven and untested medicines are
increasing.
